Led-Zeppelin and its manager, Peter Grant, viewed their albums as indivisible and complete bodies of work that were not meant to edited down and rearranged to have songs marketed as singles. While Led-Zeppelin refused to release singles numerous ones were still issued against their wishes by their record company. Still, Led-Zeppelin persisted and in doing so developed the concept of Album Oriented Rock (AOR). By refusing to make a quick buck off singles and one hit wonders, they instead insisted on pushing full albums and thus attainted financial success selling albums over singles
The following selected discography displays the band's output released, as it was released at the time, during their initial twelve-year period together, just after, following the death of John Bonham and their most recent release detailing their one-off reunion in 2007. What has been omitted is various re-releases, remasterings and bonus material released in the ensuing decades as well as several live releases as well. What remains is a cohesive body of work that has endured since its initial release and continues to inspire musicians to this day.
